Clear, Fair and Transparent Fees
At Impel Legal, we believe everyone should understand what they are paying for before any work begins.
Unlike many services where a fixed price can be applied, legal matters vary considerably in complexity. Some enquiries can be resolved quickly with straightforward guidance or a single professionally drafted letter, while others may require extensive document preparation, correspondence and ongoing support over several weeks or months.
For this reason, we do not operate a fixed tariff for every type of matter. Instead, we assess each enquiry individually to ensure our fees reflect the work involved and provide value for money.
Fair Pricing
We believe legal support should be proportionate to the issue you are trying to resolve.
For example, a simple matter may only require a carefully drafted letter costing around £25. In many cases, that is enough to resolve the dispute without any further action.
However, a more complex matter—such as pursuing a substantial consumer claim worth £25,000—may require detailed preparation, legal research, extensive correspondence and assistance throughout the civil claims process. Naturally, the level of work, and therefore the fee, will be different.
Our aim is never to recommend more work than is necessary. Where a straightforward and cost-effective solution is appropriate, we will always discuss that option with you first.
Is It Worth Pursuing My Claim?
One of the first questions many clients ask is whether pursuing their claim is worthwhile.
The answer depends on several factors, including the value of the claim, the available evidence, the likely costs involved and the outcome you are hoping to achieve.
Where appropriate, we’ll discuss these factors with you openly and honestly. In some situations, a well-drafted letter may be all that is needed to resolve the dispute. In others, it may be sensible to negotiate, consider alternative dispute resolution or, where necessary, prepare for court proceedings.
Equally, there may be occasions where the costs or risks of pursuing a claim outweigh the likely benefit. If we believe this to be the case, we’ll tell you. Our role is to help you make an informed decision based on the circumstances of your case, not simply encourage you to take action.

If additional work becomes necessary, we’ll discuss this with you before carrying it out. We won’t simply add unexpected charges without your knowledge, and we’ll keep you informed if the scope of the work changes.
Value for Money
Our objective is to provide practical legal support that represents good value.
Sometimes this means preparing a single letter or reviewing documents. In other situations, it may involve assisting you through a more complex consumer dispute, helping you prepare court documents or providing ongoing procedural guidance.
Whatever your circumstances, we’ll recommend the approach that we believe is proportionate, practical and in your best interests.
When We Can’t Help
There may be occasions where your matter requires the services of a solicitor or another authorised legal professional because it involves reserved legal activities or falls outside the scope of the services we provide.
If that happens, we’ll explain this honestly and help you understand your options. If appropriate, we’ll suggest that you seek advice from a suitably qualified legal professional.
